Demonstration schools in Kumanovo – With new appearance in the new school year

During the summer vacation, there were a lot of activities in both demonstration schools in Kumanovo. Namely, the schools were renovated as part of Component for providing incentives to schools and communities within the USAID Interethnic Integration in Education Project. The newly installed windows and doors in the PS “Brakja Miladinovci” and the new facade in the PS “Bajram Shabani” are an incentive to proceed more intensively with the large number of joint activities with the students from both schools where instruction is in different languages.

The renovation was carried out with support from the Municipality of Kumanovo. The Mayor and the local community helped jointly and contributed to the creation of the new appearance of the schools. Everyone put maximum effort in order for the students from both schools to begin the new school year, 2015/2016, in renovated schools, brighter classrooms and more pleasant ambiance to stay.

New windows and doors in the regional school PS “Braka Miladinovci”, known in Kumanovo as “Sokolana”, completely changed the layout of the school entrance, classrooms and offices, and the new toilets, renovated with assistance from the Municipality, improved the sanitary conditions and hygiene in the school building.

The new facade of the PS “Bajram Shabani”, however, transformed the school building in a beautiful facility, attractive for students’ stay. The facility now has better protection from weather influences, which will affect the improvement of the conditions for stay during winter.

Students from both demonstration schools with different languages of instruction will continue to work in a more pleasant ambiance. They have deserved it – with their energy and unity. Along with many other schools that joined this project, they are an example of integrated education and community for all of us.
