Workshop for Introducing the Concept of Interethnic Integration in Education for Teacher Training Faculties

In order to initiate the process of integrating the concept of interethnic integration in higher education that will contribute to ensuring the sustainability of interethnic integration in our education system, in Doiran on 30 and 31 August, a workshop was held for teachers from the state universities for future teachers: Pedagogical Faculty ” St. Kliment Ohridski ” in Skopje , Faculty of Pedagogy ” St. Kliment Ohridski”, Bitola , Faculty of Educational Sciences “Goce Delchev” , Stip , Faculty of Philosophy, SUT , Tetovo , and private faculty of languages ​​, cultures and communications at the University of Southeastern Europe, Tetovo.

At the workshop the objectives and activities of IIEP were presented, while participants were introduced with the methodology and methods for the introduction and promotion of interethnic integration in schools. Participants were professors who teach courses with topics in the field of multicultural education which are appropriate for upgrading and integrating the concept of encouraging intercultural awareness, positive attitudes and improving the skills of future teachers.

The teachers had the opportunity to discuss their views and experiences on their way of presenting the intercultural concept in their classes and how they influence on building intercultural competence of their students – future teachers in our education.
The workshop resulted in increased interest in the faculties about deeper understanding and application of concepts and resources to promote interethnic integration in education.
