The Secondary School Students from “Brakja Miladinovci” at a Joint Physics Class

unnamedThere are many ways in which companionship between members of different communities can be built in education, especially in subjects where the language specifics are not the most important aspect to the subject matter. The foregoing was demonstrated by a group of students from the Macedonian and the Albanian class from SS “Brakja Miladinovci”, who on November 10, 2014 had a joint physics class. This class was one of the many joint activities implemented by the schools with the support of the USAID Interethnic Integration in Education Project.

“We were divided into groups comprised of students from the two languages of instruction in order to tackle the subject matter more easily. Through cooperation, we achieved an alignment of our ideas and excellent communication”, said the students who attended the class, emphasizing their satisfaction from the way it was implemented.

In addition to the students, the biggest credit for the implementation of this interesting idea should of course be given to the teachers Rajna Kaevska and Ramiz Ljaci who led the class together. In their opinion, the class was marked by a great atmosphere and cooperation among the students.

The students were once again convinced that all who attended the class are the same, regardless of their ethnicity.  This positive experience increases the interest for future joint classes in which the language is not an obstacle when the joint work is concerned, as well as for easier obtaining of new knowledge.
