Students from the central school from Bucin and the satellite school from Svetomitrani visited their friends in Presil and jointly explored the basketball rules and the development of the basketball in Macedonia, the Balkans, Europe and the world.

The students learned many interesting details about the careers of the world renown basketball stars such as Shaquille O’Neal and Kobe Bryant, as well as about the famous Macedonian basketball players Todor Geceski and Pero Antic. Then, together with their teachers, in the school yard, they were practicing how to properly handle the ball.

These activities were particularly interesting for the students because through the process of research and game they gained many new friendships. The present parents also did not hide their satisfaction with the implemented activities. They believe that the activities should continue in the future as well, because the cooperation between the students from the two satellite schools and the central elementary school “Sv. Kiril and Metodij” in Bucin should be further encouraged and developed.

The get-together in Presil was implemented within the framework of the USAID Interethnic Integration in Education Project, through which several basketballs were provided for the school “Sv. Kiril and Metodij” – Bucin. Correspondingly, in the fortcoming period, two baskets will be placed in the two satellite schools in Svetomitrani and Presil, where the students will be able to play basketball for the first time.
