Amusing show to mark the end of renovation in Vinica

RC 1On 16 May, following a rainy morning, the sun came out right in time for the ribbon-cutting ceremony at the “Vanco Prke” Secondary School in Vinica. Teachers and students from the school worked tirelessly to create a charming program for the audience, to mark the completion of the refurbishment process of the school’s windows, replacement of the ceiling and floor.

After the opening speeches, a traditional music concert played by the school band, a fashion show with students who designed their own line, a singing performance from a very talented young girl and an art exhibition were performed and exhibited in front of the crowd. The entertaining program raised the spirits of the audience and all participated by clapping and enjoying the performances of their peers.

The event was attended by Lieutenant Colonel Mark V. Watkins from the Office of Defense Cooperation Chief at the U.S. Embassy, the Mayor of Vinica Municipality, teachers, students, parents, municipality representatives and other community representatives.

We are building more than better classrooms and a more comfortable learning environment,” said Lieutenant Colonel Mark V. Watkins, Office of Defense Cooperation Chief at the U.S. Embassy. “Through USAID’s Interethnic Integration in Education Project, we are also building the foundation in Macedonia for a more cooperative, integrated, and peaceful future.”

The renovation of the school is an incentive for students to engage in activities related to interethnic integration in education and beyond. It was financially supported by the partnership among USAID’s Interethnic Integration in Education Project, the United States European Command and the Municipality of Vinica.
