A Joint One-Day Excursion and Gathering of Students from Zdravko Cvetkovski Demonstration School

A successful example that students from diverse ethnic groups can get together, enjoy the sightseeing as one, learn about cultures and eat together their favorite meals, is illustrated during an one-day excursion that school and students from Zdravko Cvetkovski organized it on 10 October, 2012.

This activity was organized by the school, as a result of series of trainings that USAID Interethnic Integration in Education Project delivered. The school management and school integration teams from demonstration schools through these activities had the opportunity to upgrade their skills for interethnic integration in education during late August and beginning of September 2012.

By discovering the specifics of the Painted Mosque and St. Jovan Bigorski Monastery, the students had the chance to better learn about the cultural heritage, as a precondition for mutual respect and appreciation of the multicultural and multiethnic values of our country.

Students went home full of good impressions. Not only that they learnt about different cultures, but also had an extraordinary opportunity to have fun, share everyday life-stories etc. with other pals and schoolmates.

Altogether they conveyed the message “We had a brilliant day. We visited places that bring us closer and provide opportunities to better get to know each other, learn about our cultures and different customs. We learnt about the wealth and richness of our country”.

Next activities by schools are planned for December 2012.
