The citizens and the students from Vrapciste send out a message: “Together We Are Stronger- Integrated We Are More Successful“

DSC06198The ribbon-cutting ceremony that marked the completion of the renovation of the Primary School “Vrapciste” from the village of Vranjovce, Municipality of Vrapcsite once again confirmed that when the entire local community is involved in such activities success is much bigger, happiness is unlimited whereas cohabitation is promoted and enhanced. On October 29 of this year, the hall of PS “Vrapciste” was a gathering place for students, teachers, parents, grandparents, construction workers who worked on a roof of a building across the school, representatives of EUCOM, IIEP, USAID and many others; they watched the official program prepared by the school for this festive occasion, and  heard the speeches and the congratulations by the Minister of Education and Science Abdulaqim Ademi, the Mayor of the Municipality of Vrapciste, Mr. Bajram Kadrija, the Director and the Deputy Director of the school, as well as Lt. Col. Jen Ford, Air Force Attaché  from the Defense Attaché Office in the US Embassy in Skopje.

The renovation of the roof, the façade, the floors and the electrical installations in the school, that was implemented through the USAID Interethnic Integration in Education Project with the financial support of EUCOM is only an incentive for the students and the entire local community to continue to cooperate and achieve even bigger mutual successes.

DSC06387The fact that encouragement and assistance results in greater integration and inclusion of the entire community was proven by parents and many other inhabitants of the village of Vranjovce who helped both in the process of renovation, and in the organization of this ceremony. The students from PS “Vrapciste” whose language of instruction is Albanian, Macedonian or Turkish also demonstrated that their differences do not prevent them from spending time together and learning from one another. And they demonstrated this with the mutual Halloween performance that was watched with excitement by the attendees of the ceremony. After the program, there was a cocktail party with delicious local dishes, all prepared by the mothers from the village of Vranjovce.
