Reaching Integration by Singing and Dancing – Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at Zivko Brajkovski Elementary School

Singing the school anthem, variety of songs chanted by the school choir in Macedonian and Albanian language and many other events were part of ribbon cutting ceremony that took place today, 8 May 2013 in Zivko Brajkovski primary school which marked the completion of renovations as part of the USAID Interethnic Integration in Education Project.

Many parents, teachers, children, representatives of the municipality, USAID, EUCOM and team of the Interethnic Integration in Education Project were present and enjoyed the various children activities.

“Parents and teachers play a critical role in interethnic cohesion and integration, so I urge all of you to consider the seriousness of that role, and to demonstrate a positive role in your communities,” said Col. Jeffrey Predmore, U.S. European Command Senior Defense Official.  “Nothing could have a greater impact on kids’ behavior – now and later as adults – than these critical lessons you share with them.”

The process of renovation is financially supported by the USAID Interethnic Integration in Education Project and the United States Department of Defense/European Command (EUCOM).
