Exhibition to Promote Unity and Friendship in Kicevo

On October 10, in the center of the city, the “House of Culture” in Kichevo hosted a charismatic group of young students from the Mirko Mileski and Drita secondary schools to promote their products developed during the creative workshops from March to June 2013 as part of the USAID Interethnic Integration in Education Project.

The exhibition was opened in front of their peer students from their schools, teachers, directors, parents and other curious visitors. The students were creative in different ways, showing great works of art in painting, photography and graffiti. Followed by chosen music from the group, the exhibition proved that young people share the same interests, desires and dreams and ethnic divisions of any kind of are not part of their thoughts. During their workshops, the students visited different churches, mosques and other non-religious objects in Kichevo where they took pictures and learned new information about each other. After some time, the cohesion between Macedonians, Albanians and Roma students was inevitable.

USAID Interethnic Integration in Education Project (IIEP) has such activities in seven other schools during 2013 with the aim to improve interethnic integration in education.
